I can't believe that Trevor is already almost six weeks old. The time has flown by! Its amazing how much he has grown, and how much we have changed since he was born. He weighed 9lbs 8oz at his two week check up and I'm guessing that he's around 11lbs right now. He's smiling all the time, making all kinds of little cooing noises and growing out of his clothes like nobody's business. His umbilical cord stump fell off when he was exactly 3 weeks old and now he has the cutest belly button in the entire world! He holds his head up all the time now, thinks he's big enough to try to sit up when you lay him back and rolled from his tummy to his back the other night! We are endlessly amazed by him.
Trevor absolutely LOVES bathtime now. He hated it in the first couple of weeks, but who can blame him? Its impossible to keep someone warm when you're giving them a sponge bath. Now I put him in the bathtub with me most nights and he loves the water! Those big blue eyes watch the water like its the most amazing thing in the world and he just kicks his little feet the entire time! He loves it when I hold his shoulders and let his legs float in the water and he doesn't even mind getting his hair washed. I think he's going to be a little water baby for sure! Doesn't the YMCA start baby swimming classes at like six months? I'll have to check.
He still doesn't like to nap during the day, but I can't really complain-he sleeps like a champ at night. For example, last night he went to sleep at midnight, slept until 4:30, was awake long enough to eat and then went back to sleep until 7:30ish this morning. He's never had a problem with getting his days and nights mixed up (looks around for wood to knock on). Napping during the day is apparently boring and he sees absolutely no point in it, no matter how tired he is. There is too much going on and he might miss something! My little man is too smart for his own good sometimes. I did find yesterday that I have better luck getting him to take a nap if he's on his belly. Now before you all yell at me, I know its bad and I HATE putting him on his belly-it makes me a nervous wreck, but it is during the day while I'm awake and I keep a close eye on him. (Besides, he's MY baby and I don't care what you think!! lol) By doing this he took THREE decent naps yesterday! YAY!
Anyway, life is good. Moving way too fast for my taste, but good-wonderful even.
